Software Aids Governance Management

HealthGate Data Corp., a vendor of document management and workflow applications, has introduced software to help hospitals and delivery systems manage governance issues.

The HealthGate Governance application from the Burlington, Mass.-based vendor includes modeling functions to enable the grouping of individuals into workgroups or committees, then group them into departments or facilities, then group them into regions. Leaders of each level can set parameters for document creation, amendment and viewing. The software also has tools to analyze the performance of committees and individuals, and the relationship between committees.

A delivery system wishing to standardize care for a specific medical condition, for instance, can use the software to identify all stakeholders at various levels of the organization, model the desired governance structures, and execute and measure performance.
