The Office of the National Coordinator for HIT has launched a free Web-based health information security training application.

Called CyberSecure: Your Medical Practice, the game walks a user through multiple privacy and security challenges that come up in practices. These include a co-worker needing to borrow a password to access information and help a patient waiting on the phone; and a subordinate requesting to take her laptop home tonight to catch up on billings for last week. For these and other scenarios, multiple responses are offered and the game player selects one.

Correct answers unlock security tips that can be printed when all tips are unlocked. Correctly answering questions also helps the practice grow, such as adding another exam room, while incorrect answers hurt the practice. The game is available here.
