First Vendors Get Certified Under New Interoperability Program

Certification firm ICSA Labs and Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise, a decade-old industry collaborative, have announced the first certifications for interoperability of products from medical device manufacturers and health information technology vendors.


Certification firm ICSA Labs and Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise, a decade-old industry collaborative, have announced the first certifications for interoperability of products from medical device manufacturers and health information technology vendors.

ICSA and IHE announced the initiative in January to facilitate data exchange beyond EHRs to include patient care devices, and laboratory, radiology, cardiology, dentistry and eye care systems. The eight certified products cover infusion pumps, patient monitors, integration engines, health information exchange platforms and electronic health records.

Companies and their certified product include CareFusion (CCE-R, version 1.1); Corepoint Health (Corepoint Integration Engine version 5.0); B. Braun Medical (FZ621 DLinkA version 12/2011); InterSystems Corp. (Healthshare version 2013.1); Masimo Corp. (Masimo version E5031); Hospira (Mednet version 5.8); Greenway Medical Technologies (Primesuite 2011 version 16.0); and Baxter Healthcare (Sigma Spectrum Infusion System, version 13).
