Revenue cycle management vendor Craneware Inc. will offer with its Patient Charge Estimator software the electronic insurance eligibility services of the RelayHealth unit of McKesson Corp., San Francisco.
The software from Atlanta-based Craneware estimates charges for inpatient and outpatient procedures. The system uses a hospital's historical claims data, chargemaster files and negotiated third-party contracts to develop such estimates.
Eligibility verification will give patients a view of their out-of-pocket costs, including deductibles, co-pays and covered services, according to the vendors.
