Consulting firm Concordant Inc. has introduced EHRopt, a Web portal to assist physician practices with implementing electronic health records.

Based on the North Chelmsford, Mass.-based firm's 2,500 practice implementations, the portal offers a series of tools and best practices to walk physician practices through implementation tasks and clinical content work that need to be done, as well as access to training videos. The service is designed to enable practices to tackle EHR adoption tasks on their own schedule, even during off-hours.

The service also includes dashboards and program tracking, implementation and support programs, a document library, and social networking tools. More information is available at concordant.com.

A major success factor for accountable care organizations will be linking caregivers across the spectrum of care delivery. If history is any indication, that's going to be an industrywide struggle.
