Due to the impact of Superstorm Sandy, the deadline for nominations for the 3rd Annual EHR Game Changers recognition program has been extended to Monday, Nov. 5, at 5 p.m. eastern. The program was created by Health Data Management to honor individuals who have been true game changers in the design, advocacy, deployment and development of electronic health records technology. Individuals from across the spectrum of industry stakeholders--hospitals, group practices, payers, associations, federal and state governments, and health technology vendors--have helped in the evolution of electronic health records technology and its increasing adoption by provider organizations. HDM launched the EHR Game Changers program to recognize their extraordinary efforts to increase patient safety and improve the quality of care in the United States.

Individuals from any health care industry stakeholder organization are eligible for the EHR Game Changers Awards. Past recipients include John Mattison, M.D., the chief medical officer at Kaiser Permanente; Glen Tullman, CEO at Allscripts; and Larry Garber, M.D., a practicing internist and the medical director for informatics at Reliant Medical Group (formerly Fallon Clinic).
