* Secure health care mobile messaging vendor TigerText Inc. has raised $8.2 million in a second round of funding, bringing its total to more than $10 million. Easton Capital and New Science Ventures led the round. Clinicians at more than 20 organizations use the software on Apple, Android and Blackberry devices, as well as desktops, according to the vendor.
* Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque is using release-of-information and audit tracking services from MRO Corp. The contract covers the delivery system’s eight hospitals and more than 30 clinics.
* Livingston, N.J.-based meridianEMR, which sells an electronic records system for urologists, has come out with a mobile version called meridianMobile. It enables clinician access to patient records via an iPhone app to retrieve patient information and alerts, and capture data during rounds. The software is available for purchase at the App Store.
* Dallas-based consultancy Anthelio will provide services to help clients of community hospital information systems vendor Healthland migrate to the new Centriq electronic health records system. Centriq is a Web-based clinical/financial HIS with a single database, and the vendor can remotely host it. The inpatient electronic health records software is certified as meeting Stage 1 meaningful use requirements; the ambulatory EHR is not yet certified. The system also supports data access via tablet computers and smartphones.
