Hospital Adds On-Demand Education

Metro Health Hospital in Wyoming, Mich., has added patient education videos to its interactive television system in patient rooms.

The 208-bed hospital’s system gives patients access to television shows, movies and the Internet. It also enables patients to communicate with caregivers.

The system offers on-demand education videos covering a patient’s diagnosis, treatment and post-hospitalization care. Nursing staff using any personal computer on a floor can assign to patients a list of videos, which patients and family members can watch at their convenience.
