Transactions processing testing vendor Edifecs Inc. has introduced a testing product for ICD-10 compliance.

The IDC-10 testing application has different versions for providers and payers but with the same underlying platform, says Deepak Sadagon, general manager of clinical solutions at the Bellevue, Wash.-based vendor. It’s designed to automate much of the testing process, and improve how well organizations can predict operational and financial results.

For instance, the application includes a data analytics module to identify claims at the highest risk of overpayment for payers, or underpayment for providers. The software supports external testing by using historical claims to help payers identify providers most at-risk for payment variation so they can work with those providers during the transition to ICD-10. It also can identify organizational complexities, such as the three times more diabetes codes in ICD-10 as in ICD-9, Sadagon says.
