East Jefferson General selects Kaufman Hall analytics platform

Here is Health Data Management’s weekly roundup of health information technology contracts and implementations:

• East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, La., has implemented a suite of the planning software from Kaufman Hall. The IT includes budgeting, long-rang planning, capital planning and performance reporting modules, residing on a single platform to enable analysis of results. The 420-bed facility has been a consulting client of Kaufman Hall for an extended period.

• Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, Kan., with 586-bed Stormont Vail Hospital and a group practice with 230 primary and specialty physicians, has bought the Rhapsody integration engine of Orion Health. CIO Judy Corzine said the organization will be able to migrate its interfaces to Rhapsody without hiring additional IT staff, which was a key reason for selecting the vendor.

• Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia, Ga., is one of the latest Meditech clients to migrate to the new 6.1 version of the electronic health record. New modules being implemented include critical care, web ambulatory, surgical services and business/clinical analytics.

• Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, a 350-bed teaching hospital in Brooklyn, is replacing its legacy Allscripts electronic health record with the vendor’s Sunrise suite of software. The hospital already uses Allscripts’ emergency department and care management modules and now will add the Sunrise acute care EHR along with radiology and revenue cycle management modules as it seeks to improve clinical decision support to prepare for a transition to value-based care.
