Nursing School Adopts eICU Technology

The Nursing Education Center at Texas Woman's University in Houston will add remote electronic monitoring of intensive care patients to its nursing curriculum.
The university has partnered with Memorial Hermann Healthcare System and Baltimore-based VISICU, vendor of the eICU telemedicine technology. The nursing center will simulate the eICU environment to prepare students to work in computerized environments.

VISICU, a division of Andover, Mass.-based Philips Healthcare, donated the eICU simulation module, which includes hardware, software and clinical support applications.
