USC Adopts Document Imaging

University of California Care Medical Group, which recently announced it will implement four business management applications from Lawson Software, also will deploy the document imaging and management technology of Perceptive Software Inc., Shawnee, Kan.

The Los Angeles-based academic group practice of more than 500 physicians will use the ImageNow document management system in its accounts payable and human resources departments. The system will integrate with the Lawson applications. This will enable users to access supporting documents from the document management system from their Lawson screens.

Among other streamlined functions, the document management system will replace a paper-based invoice processing system with an automated workflow process. It will enable all human resources information to be captured, stored and accessible electronically, the company says.
