Entra Health Systems has upgraded its patient Web portal that helps diabetics monitor their condition.
The San Diego-based vendor sells a blood glucose meter that uses Bluetooth wireless technology to upload readings to a mobile phone or computer, and from there to a patient's page on the portal. The portal has enabled patients to set up test reminders or notify family members if test results exceed thresholds or fluctuate. Patients also can give their physicians authorization to access the portal.
New enhancements to the portal include enabling the input of patient supplied data such as blood pressure, weight, medications, and exercise and nutrition logs. A scatter plot charts blood sugar levels by time of day and another display shows all blood tests for a selected time period, according to the vendor.
Test results now are color-coded to make it easier to find values that exceeded thresholds. Data also can be exported into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. More information is available at entrahealthsystems.com.
