Delta Regional selects Meditech for electronic records system
In other deals, Catholic Health Services picks consulting firm to provide IT tools for a big safety push.

- Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville, Miss., until recently was a Meditech electronic health records customer, then switched vendors and selected Cerner Corp. Now, the hospital is going back to Meditech and using its Meditech 6.1 EHR. Thomas Moore, vice president and CFO at the 217-bed hospital, indicated in a statement that cost was a factor and added that the functionality and usability of Meditech physician tools “seemed to surpass the other vendors we evaluated.” Moore did not respond to a request for more information. Delta Regional serves about 142,000 residents across seven counties.
- Six-hospital Catholic Health Services serving Long Island has contracted with the Healthcare Performance Improvement consulting group of Press Ganey to support a patient safety initiative. The vendor offers patient experience measurement, performance analytics and strategic consulting services with an established method for building and sustaining a safety program.
- Recently re-opened Pontiac (Mich.) General Hospital, which had been operating as Doctor’s Hospital of Michigan before closing for a time, is using patient access and accounting/billing software from Stockell Health Systems. Earlier during the work to reopen the facility under new owners, the hospital contracted for the OpenVista electronic health records software of Medsphere Systems.
- Cardiology Associates of North Mississippi has implemented the Pro Charge physician documentation software of MedAptus to support care given at North Mississippi Medical Center. The vendor was selected in part because of experience across inpatient, outpatient and emergency settings, and easier integration with an athenahealth billing system and the hospital’s Allscripts Sunrise system.
- Radiology Associates of Macon, Georgia, has renewed a contract with Zotec Partners for revenue cycle management services. Under an outsourced arrangement, the vendor will continue to manage revenue cycle functions of the practice, which includes 30 radiologists and three radiation oncologists. The practice has used Zotec services since 2001.
