Round Rock, Texas-based Dell Inc. will integrate its new Streak miniature tablet computer/cell phone application into its health care product lines.

Streak has a five-inch screen and runs on the Android operating system. Dell markets to hospitals--for them to offer to affiliated physicians--remotely hosted practice management/electronic health records software bundled with desktop and laptop computers, printers, scanners, and wireless networks.

Now, Dell will offer Streak, which weighs less than one-half pound and fits in a medical lab coat, in the EHR/hardware bundle. The mobile device also has cameras on the front and back to take photos that can be updated to the EHR.

Dell's EHR vendor partners to integrate with Streak are Allscripts, eClinicalWorks and NextGen. More information is available at dell.com/healthcare.
