Drug content software vendor Gold Standard /Elsevier has introduced a new database containing state and federal controlled substance drug schedules.

Called the Alchemy State and Federal module, it holds information on 41 state schedules and enables identification of differences between state and federal prescription drug monitoring programs, according to the Tampa, Fla.-based vendor.

Some states, for instance, have added drugs excluded from the federal list of controlled substances. The new database is designed to aid in identifying and tracking drugs unique to each state's list of reportable substances. The module also supports federal guidelines for consumer medical information. For details, visit goldstandard.com.
