CSC Acquisition Adds to Gov’t Business

Computer Sciences Corp. has acquired government contractor Maricom Systems Inc., expanding its support of health information technology initiatives within the Department of Health and Human Services.


Computer Sciences Corp. has acquired government contractor Maricom Systems Inc., expanding its support of health information technology initiatives within the Department of Health and Human Services.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. The buy expands Falls Church, Va.-based CSC's focus on high-growth areas of the federal government, particularly HHS' efforts to improve its I.T. capabilities to comply with provisions of the Affordable Care Act.

Baltimore-based Maricom Systems' recent government business includes a $42.9 million contract to provide business intelligence applications to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and a $9.6 million deal to operate a contact center for HHS' early retiree reinsurance program.
