The Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange will host an audiocast on April 29 to provide detailed information on the CORE Phase II connectivity rule, which tightens standards for the electronic eligibility and claim status transactions.

CORE is the Committee on Operating Rules for Information Exchange initiative of CAQH, a Washington-based alliance of payers and trade associations. The goal is to make electronic claims and related transactions as easy to conduct as an ATM transaction. The health reform law mandates use of a series of operating rules between 2013 and 2016.

Representatives of transactions processor NaviNet Inc., Cambridge, Mass., and Wellesley, Mass.-based Harvard Pilgrim Health Care will give an overview of the Phase II operating rule, and offer lessons learned and best practices for plug-and-play application of the rule.

The Reston, Va.-based Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange is an industry advocacy organization. The cost of the 90-minute audiocast is $145 for WEDI and CORE members and $175 for nonmembers. For more information, click here.
