Cook County Health and Hospitals System in Illinois has gone live on a cloud-based unified virtual data center serving nearly two dozen facilities across the Chicago region.


Cook County Health and Hospitals System in Illinois has gone live on a cloud-based unified virtual data center serving nearly two dozen facilities across the Chicago region.

The health system, which includes the county health department, John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital and Provident Hospital, serves more than 500,000 patients each year. Minneapolis-based Datalink deployed the data center, which cost nearly $3 million.

The data center includes components from NetApp, Cisco, VMware, Quantum and Symantec, among other vendors.
