Content Vendors Align

Two vendors of medical information content for consumers have aligned to expand their content offerings.

Chicago-based Emmi Solutions sells patient education and risk management software to hospitals and physicians. The company offers Web-based interactive presentations on 130 medical conditions and related procedures. The presentations educate patients while providing informed consent documentation.

Boise, Idaho-based Healthwise is a vendor of Web-based consumer-oriented medical content for providers, payers and other vendors. Under a new product, called Emmi + Healthwise, Emmi will use content from Healthwise to significantly increase the number and depth of its presentations, says Ron Rooth, CEO of Emmi. Healthwise, in turn, gets another delivery platform for its content, he adds.
