Ingenix Launches Consulting Unit

Ingenix, a vendor offering software and professional services to providers, insurers and pharmaceutical firms, has launched a centralized consulting unit within the company.

The Eden Prairie, Minn.-based vendor has long been offering consulting in addition to information technology products. The services have covered a broad array of areas including revenue cycle management, data analytics, and electronic data interchange.

After 30 months of preparation, the company now has brought the consulting businesses--and about 1,000 consultants--under one roof. The company also named Ted Chien as CEO of Ingenix Consulting. He previously served as an executive vice president at the company.

Data analytics will be a major and distinguishing feature of all consulting services, Chien says. "We have more data than any consulting firm I know."
