The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act appropriated $1.1 million for such research to develop and disseminate best practices and evidence-based treatment guidelines. "An important component of this effort is creating an inventory of CER to ensure that patients, clinicians and other decision makers can identify and locate relevant CER in a timely manner," HHS said in a notice being published July 19 in the Federal Register. It is available now at ofr.gov/inspection.aspx.
HHS' Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation is seeking comment until Aug. 9 on ways to develop an inventory that captures comparative effectiveness research. The inventory would be publicly available through a Web-based system.
