CMS to Discuss MU Rule on Feb. 23

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will host a teleconference on Feb. 23 to discuss provisions of the proposed rule to establish the Medicare/Medicaid incentive programs for the meaningful use of electronic health records.


The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will host a teleconference on Feb. 23 to discuss provisions of the proposed rule to establish the Medicare/Medicaid incentive programs for the meaningful use of electronic health records.

The proposed rule was released in late December and officially published on Jan. 13. CMS will accept public comments until March 15 to be considered as the agency writes a final rule.

Issues being covered in the one-hour teleconference, starting at 1:30 EST, include who is eligible for incentives, what constitutes meaningful use, how to demonstrate meaningful use, available incentives, how to make comments, and where to find additional resources.
