Care and disease management software vendor Phytel Inc. has named Steve Schelhammer as CEO.
Schelhammer previously served as chair of the Dallas-based vendor and succeeds Neil Smiley as CEO. Smiley now will become chair.
The switch is a strategic decision to take advantage of Schelhammers experience in disease management, according to a company spokesperson. Schelhammer was founder of disease management firm Accordant Health Services and was one of the founders of the Disease Management Association of America.
Phytels software pulls data from various information systems to create a registry. The application then applies evidence-based disease management and preventive care protocols against the registry to identify patients due for care and automates the notification process.
The software also enables the tracking of patient responses and monitoring of compliance. More information is available at phytel.com.
