Navigating Cancer, a Seattle-based vendor of oncology-specific patient portals, has launched single sign-on (SSO) functionality in its version 5.1 portal.

The SSO feature allows patients who receive treatment and care across multiple cancer clinics that use Navigating Cancer’s platform to view all of their information and to interact with the many physicians who care for them with a single login.

"SSO eliminates the need for patients to remember multiple passwords and the inconvenience of logging in and out of multiple portals," company executives said. "Additionally, the platform allows patients to upload documents from other providers to create a single experience for all their cancer-related medical information."

The version 5.1 portal received achieved ONC HIT 2014 Edition Modular EHR Certification for stages 1 and 2 of Meaningful Use in July 2014.

“Cancer patients may see surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and other types of physicians and some patients even travel to different care providers across the country," said Navigating Cancer CEO Gena Cook . "Our goal is to create a comprehensive experience to make it as easy and stress free as possible for patients to actively participate in their care. We’re happy to provide the SSO flexibility for patients to seamlessly access their health information across multiple cancer clinics.”
