Eleven health care organizations or associations are early members of the newly formed California ICD-10 Collaborative, designed to aid stakeholders in working collectively to implement the new code sets.

The goal is for providers, insurers, vendors and associations to share best practices and collaborate in end-to-end testing, lowering risks and costs of implementing ICD-10. Members have formed three initial work groups to cover issues related to education and training, communications and outreach, and testing. The organization also will host regular Web seminars. More information is available at caicd-10.org.

Current members include Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, John Muir Health, Palomar Health, Scripps Health, St. Joseph Health, Blue Shield of California, Anthem Blue Cross, California Association of Health Plans, California Association of Physician Groups, California Health Information Association, and the Integrated Healthcare Association.
