The 555-bed hospital is becoming independent from The Health Alliance, a Cincinnati delivery system with five other hospitals. Consequently, The Christ Hospital has relied on the parent organization to manage business processes and now needs its own information technology infrastructure.
The hospital is deploying the Lawson QuickStep Healthcare suite of software that the vendor introduced last year. The applications include human resources, enterprise financial, supply chain and business intelligence information systems. The systems are preconfigured with about 80% of the key business processes needed to reduce the time, cost and risks of implementation, according to the vendor.
