NextGen Offers Outsourced Billing

Physician software vendor NextGen Healthcare Information Systems Inc. has formally launched its outsourced revenue cycle management services.

Competing with Cambridge, Mass.-based athenahealth Inc., among others, the Practice Solutions service bundles Horsham, Pa.-based NextGen’s practice management/electronic records software with outsourced billing and claims clearinghouse services.

NextGen has spent more than a year developing the new service and 20 customers now use it as the company starts to market its outsourced revenue cycle management services.

The services include charge capture; claims generation and editing; electronic claims submission and eligibility verification; payment posting; patient correspondence; document imaging and management; accounts receivable follow-up; and call center services.
