The two-hospital delivery system has licensed the applications from Chicago-based Allscripts. It will replace existing practice management and EHR systems that the owned practices use, and will remotely host and manage the applications for community physicians. A Berkshire spokesperson did not respond to a request for additional information, including whether the organization will subsidize the cost of the software under Stark Act and federal safe harbor exemptions.
Berkshire also will implement the vendor's clinical quality measurement reporting and revenue cycle management applications. More information on the delivery system is available at berkshirehealthsystems.org.
