Minneapolis-based U.S. Bank has named Ralph Bernstein as senior vice president of health care solutions.
In the position, which is new, Bernstein will manage the health care business line of savings and payment products for consumers, providers and insurers. U.S. Bank is the nations sixth largest commercial bank with 2,542 branch offices and 4,895 ATMs.
Bernstein most recently served as vice president of card solutions at Exante Financial Solutions, a division of Minneapolis-based UnitedHealth Group. He previously was a principal at RS3 Solutions Inc., a health care, banking and payments consulting firm.
U.S. Bank initially ramped up its health care expertise in early 2007 by naming transactions processing veteran and consultant Jim Moynihan as senior vice president to lead the banks sales of electronic medical banking services.
Moynihan remains with U.S. Bank and reports to Bernstein, whose position is the first time the bank has put one person in charge of health care strategies across all business lines.
