Employers who moved to Aon Hewitt’s multi-carrier fully-insured private healthcare exchange experienced overall healthcare cost savings for the 2014 plan year — providing some of the first data on the impact of post-Affordable Care Act private exchanges.

Of the 18 large employers — more than 5,000 employees each — representing more than 600,000 employees and their dependents, each company reduced their overall healthcare cost for medical coverage by more than $750 per employee compared to their expected 2014 spending, Aon says.
