IBM Corp. has opened a Health Analytics Solution Center in Dallas to aid hospitals and physician practices in analyzing the data they generate to improve decision making and raise the quality of care.

The center will employ more than 100 health analytics experts, according to the Armonk, N.Y.-based company. The center will enable clients to collect and analyze data from sensors, patient monitoring systems, medical instruments, hand held devices and other sources.

Pharmaceutical firms, medical device manufacturers and insurers also are target audiences for the service.

More information on IBM's health care business is available at http://www-935.ibm.com/services/us/gbs/bus/html/bcs_healthcare.html.
