The online, bundled service gives physicians a frame of reference to compare and evaluate prospective managed care contracts, according to the Chicago-based association. The searchable database enables access to updated statutes and regulations in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The database covers the managed care contracting process, the contract itself, and the business relationship between physicians and payers after an agreement is signed.
In total, the database is designed to provide alternative contract language, ensure contracts and payers comply with state requirements, clarify contract issues and manage ongoing relationships, monitor emerging state and federal legislative and regulatory trends, and assist with advocacy efforts to reform unfair business practices, according to the AMA.
