Allscripts App Supports iPad Access to EHRs

Allscripts has introduced an application to enable use of its electronic health records via an iPad.

The product, called “Allscripts Wand,” will enable physicians to review charts before entering an exam and input information from the exam; view a timeline of lab results, medications, vital signs, immunizations and other data; e-prescribe; and resolve tasks and respond to messages with a swipe of the screen, according to the vendor.

Pilot sites of Wand included Pediatric Clinic LLC in Auburn, Ala.; and USF Health in Tampa, Fla. The application is available for the Allscripts Professional and Enterprise EHR products and downloadable from iTunes.
