ACMCS provided education and certification services for its physician and facility coders. As part of AHIMA, which serves more than 67,000 members, the coders now will have expanded opportunities to learn and advance in the health information management profession.
The Commission on Certification for Health Informatics and Information Management, which handles certification programs for AHIMA, will review how to proceed with ACMCS certification.
The two organizations have cooperated in the past, with ACMCS hosting pre-conference educational programs during AHIMA’s annual conference.
