Labor management software vendor API Healthcare Corp. has acquired Clearview Staffing Software Inc., which sells complementary products to health care staffing agencies. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Hartford, Wis.-based API sells time and attendance, staffing and scheduling, patient classification, payroll, human resources, and business applications. In addition to staffing software, Dallas-based Clearview also sells a recruiting and hiring application.

Integrating software from both companies will ease the sharing of information between hospitals and agencies to fill open shifts faster, increase speed and accuracy of billing and payment, and quickly resolve tardy or no-show situations, according to the vendors.

API will retain Clearview's Dallas office. More information is available at clearviewtss.com and apihealthcare.com.

A major success factor for accountable care organizations will be linking caregivers across the spectrum of care delivery. If history is any indication, that's going to be an industrywide struggle.
