Imaging Firm Adds Speech Tech

Atirix Medical Systems, which sells mammography practice, quality and regulatory management software, has acquired Provox Technologies Corp., a vendor of speech recognition software. Acquisition terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition enables Atirix to offer clients software to increase productivity and improve report turnaround times, says Steve Backes, CEO of the Minneapolis-based vendor.

The addition of Roanoke, Va.-based Provox also gives Atirix more expertise in Microsoft .NET development and integration, he adds.
