PHNS Buy Augments Data Mgmt. Tools

Dallas-based PHNS, which operates data centers and offers outsourced information technology services for health care organizations, has acquired AmeriVault Corp., a Waltham, Mass.-based vendor of data backup, archiving and recovery services. Acquisition terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition increases PHNS’ data protection and disaster recovery services to 900 clients. AmeriVault’s technology includes disk-based online backup.

Together, the organizations serve about 1,270 clients. AmeriVault management and employees will continue to operate out of the Waltham facility.
