TriZetto Buy Targets Automating Payment Processes

Payer software vendor TriZetto Corp. has acquired Healthcare Productivity Automation, which sells a claims workflow tool to automate manual payment processes by providers and insurers. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The cloud-based tool, called Health Mason, replicates human decision-making to review large amounts of claims, enter data and determine the best way to process claims according to the vendors. Functions for providers include claims posting, claim status, preventive denials management, claim validation/correction, and reviewing of accounts, among others.

Functions for payers include claim auditing, error validation, mass adjudication, authorization reconciliation, and applying rules, state guidelines and claims adjustments, among others. The system also includes data analytics. Healthcare Productivity Automation touts a return on investment in two months. More information is at hpapro.com.
