Private equity firm Thoma Bravo has made a “substantial investment” in SRS Software, LLC, a vendor of electronic health records for the ambulatory specialist market.

Financial terms of the purchase and the percentage of SRS acquired were not disclosed, but SRS now is listed under Thoma Bravo’s portfolio of companies. Other health I.T. holdings by the firm include hospital ancillary software vendor Mediware and document imaging and management vendor Hyland Software.

Montvale, N.J.-based SRS sells a meaningful use-certified EHR that incorporates document imaging and management software to ease importation of additional information into the patient record. SRS serves 5,200 providers with market share in the orthopedic, ophthalmology and cardiology fields, among other specialties. CEO Evan Steele will continue to lead the company.
