McKesson Corp. will acquire physician vendor Med3000 for an undisclosed sum in a deal expected to close in several months.

Pittsburgh-based Med3000 sells practice management and electronic health records software to physicians, as well as outsourced services such as billing/collections, accounting, human resources, scheduling and managed care contracting. It also provides third-party administration services to government agencies and employers, and offers revenue cycle management services to EMS providers and independent practice associations.

The acquisition will compliment medical billing and practice management services offered through McKesson’s revenue management solutions unit.
