* Raleigh, N.C.-based start-up Axial Exchange has bought mRemedy for an undisclosed sum. Axial sells care transition management software that integrates to electronic health records and other information systems. Accompanying that is patient engagement software to educate the patient of his or her condition, treatment and follow-care while in the hospital, and enable them to make follow-up appointments prior to being discharged. Rochester, Minn.-based mRemedy, a joint venture of DoApp Inc. and Mayo Clinic, sells a patient engagement mobile app called Mytality. It enables patients to track cholesterol, medications, weight, glucose and blood pressure; and access a medical library, physician finder, first aid guide, hospital departmental contacts and scheduling, and maps of inside hospitals. Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Ky., was its first client.
* Physical therapy software vendor WebPT has acquired physical therapy and chiropractic billing services firm Health Data Solutions. Terms were not disclosed. The buy is part of a WebPT strategy to become a one-stop shop for physical therapists. Robin Roach, co-founder of Health Data Solutions, will lead WebPT’s billing department.
* Investment firm TPG Growth has acquired critical care information systems vendor iMDsoft. Terms were not disclosed. The vendor has about 230 hospitals in 25 nations using its MetaVision suite of applications for intensive care units and other high-acuity environments.
