Ingenix Inc., a vendor of coding and compliance software and consulting services, will acquire CareMedic Services Inc., which offers revenue cycle management applications and services to provider organizations. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The acquisition will compliment Ingenix's existing applications and expertise and will expand its business process outsourcing services, according to the Eden Prairie, Minn.-based vendor.

Through its Electronic Financial Record product suite, St. Petersburg, Fla.-based CareMedic sells claims, compliance, audit, denial, billing and document management software. The company also offers data analytics software and outsourced business office services. The company has contracts with more than 2,500 provider facilities, including 1,500 hospitals.

The senior management team at CareMedic will remain and CEO Sheila Schweitzer will continue to lead the unit, according to an Ingenix spokesperson.

More information is available at ingenix.com and caremedic.com.
