Oncology software vendor IntrinsiQ LLC has acquired life sciences market research and consulting firm WWMR Inc. for an undisclosed sum.

Waltham, Mass.-based IntrinsiQ sells the IntelliDose application to assist physicians in calculating chemotherapy dosages. The software also alerts physicians to potential adverse drug interactions and supports creating and printing physician orders and patient information sheets. The company operates a database with information on the practice behavior of more than 600 oncologists.

San Mateo, Calif.-based WWMR serves pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms. It specializes in market research, product and market assessments, forecasts, and economic analysis through each stage of the clinical research and drug development processes.  The company serves oncology and non-oncology markets.

Combining IntrinsiQ's database with WWMR's research will enable insight into how oncologists perceive treatment standards and actually practice medicine, according to the companies. More information is available at intrinsiq.com and wwmr.com.
