The American Academy of Family Physicians has launched an online patient survey portal that its members can buy for $150 a year to gather, organize and report satisfaction information from patients.

AAFP developed the portal with Avatar International, a research and consulting firm specializing in improving the quality and efficiency of care. The portal is designed to support participation in the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality's Clinician and Group Customer Assessment of Health Providers and Systems patient satisfaction surveys, called CG-CAHPS.

Physicians buying the portal can give patients cards with a secure access code to go online and complete the survey, anonymously, at their convenience. Members using the portal will share aggregated data with AAFP. More information is available at https://aafp.mydocsurvey.com/.
