Plenty on Tap for WEDI’s Conference

Two pre-conference forums will kick off the 17th Annual WEDI National Conference, May 19-22 in Baltimore. The Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange, a Reston, Va.-based advocacy organization, sponsors the event.

WEDI and the ANSI ACS X12 standards development committee will offer a joint forum on the forthcoming HIPAA 5010 transaction sets. Sessions will cover enhancements to business, technical and structural functions and explore in detail the changes in each transaction.

The second pre-conference forum will offer the first two of 10 courses from Pahrump, Nev.-based Health IT Certification LLC to receive professional certification in such areas as electronic health records, health information exchange or health information technology.

Once the WEDI National Conference opens on May 20, educational sessions will cover such issues as real-time adjudication, compliance issues with EHR adoption, health ID cards, security threats and technologies, claims attachments, new interoperability specifications, and emerging trends and technologies.
