AHIMA Boosts its PHR Campaign
HDM Breaking News, January 28, 2008
The American Health Information Management Association is making a new push for personal health records with public service announcements slated for radio and television and a revamped Web site.
The Chicago-based association more than three years ago launched a Web site and grassroots campaign to promote PHRs. Now, it is following that up with the Its HI Time, America! campaign to further raise awareness.

The airwaves campaign includes three public service announcements slated for national broadcasting. AHIMA also has made significant enhancements to its myPHR.com Web site.
The site previously offered a paper-based PHR template that consumers could print and use to write in pertinent information. Now, the PHR can be downloaded to a consumers computer, populated with data and updated. The PHR is available in Microsoft Word and PDF versions, and in English and Spanish.
Other enhancements to the Web site include easier navigation; links to other PHRs including those hosted by third-parties; a newsroom with daily health-related articles from multiple sources; a media player with video testimonies on how other consumers use their PHRs; a glossary of terms associated with PHRs; updated and expanded links to health-related Web sites; and more information on power-of-attorney issues.
The site also has information on the education requirements and duties of various health care professions. For details, visit myphr.com.
