Marriott, Circuit City Embrace PHRs

Two large employers are offering employees and their dependents personal health records software from ActiveHealth Management, New York.

Hospitality firm Marriott International Inc. of Washington is offering the vendor’s ActivePHR to 98,000 employees and dependents. Electronics vendor Circuit City Stores Inc., Richmond, Va., is offering the software to 22,000 employees and dependents.

The PHR includes decision support software to identify issues that should be discussed with a user’s physician. Users also can give physicians permission to access the PHR. More information is available at activehealth.net.
