Walgreens will enable its pharmacy patients to access their personal prescription histories through the HealthVault consumer health platform of Microsoft Corp., Redmond, Wash.
Patients registered on the Deerfield, Ill.-based drug store chain's Web site already can access their complete prescription histories. Now, a patient will be able to add the history to a HealthVault personal health record, with information automatically updated.
Linking to HealthVault will enable Walgreens' patients to more easily share prescription information with physicians, says Don Huonker, senior vice president of health care innovation at Walgreens. The service will be available later this year.
More information is available at walgreens.com and healthvault.com.
