HP Offers Medical Image Storage

Palo Alto, Calif.-based Hewlett-Packard Co. has enhanced its secure data storage suite to better support diagnostic images.

The vendor's Medical Archive solution version 3.0 features applications for indexing, policy management and search software designed to enable health care organizations and imaging centers to provide improved access to digital diagnostic images. The software also facilitates the creation of multiple tiers of storage and encryption of images. Further, it also can store documents and lab reports.

Hewlett-Packard has enabled the Medical Archive to integrate with several picture archiving and communication system applications. Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, N.Y. and Asante Health System, Medford, Ore., are using the enhanced storage software.
